These retellings usually feature a strong female protagonist who does not wait to be rescued but instead takes an active role in determining the course of her own life. Robin has been granted a rare holiday to go to the Nottingham Fair, where he will spend the day with his friends Much and Marian. There is some very slight fading to the spine of the book. The characters explore and grow in this story as both we the reader and Robin McKinley’s characters explore about the bonds of community, shared need, injustice, redemption, friendship and love. There is some very light rolling to the top front spine joint. The Outlaws of Sherwood is a tale told with great pace, filled with risk, adventure, desperation, compassion, the many faces of courage and sacrifice.
